8 steps to write a professional resume
How to write ResumeMost jobseekers perhaps have the wrong notion that a resume can land them a job. They forget the fact that a resume or CV is meant for the arrangement of an interview opportunity. Nonetheless, the importance of writing a professional resume doesn’t diminish for an interview is the first step towards getting the dream job. Let’s take a look at some of the tried and tested steps of how to write a resume:

Priority Listing : Before you go on to writing a draft of professional resume, make a list of all the priorities ranging from job objective to profile summary, from professional history to academic credentials.

Page Format :  To format the page for the draft of your resume is the next important step. It includes setting up of uniform margin, selection of standard font (either Arial or Calibri), font sizes for headings, sub-headings and body, proper spacing and indent. Once you are done with these settings, then you are ready to fly off!

Proper Layout : There are basically three types of resumes (Functional, Chronological and Combination) to choose from. After finalizing with the kind of job requirement, you can easily decide on the type of resume you want to create.

Titles and Subheads : Since your resume gets only a few seconds to attract the employer, appropriate  titles and sub-heads play a prime role in achieving that goal. Set your headings and subheadings in a chronological order (with important facts on the top) to make the recruiter go through your credentials, at least once.

Insert Keywords : Carefully browse through the job advertisement to find out some special keywords mentioned by the recruiter. Once you draw out the keywords, you can easily weave  hem inside your resume.  Such a strategic measure will increase your chances of getting an interview call as  most of the recruiters use special software programs to pick resumes.

Include Action Verbs : Use of action verbs in resume allows the employer to get a clear picture of what you have done so far in your professional span. Action verbs like accelerate, achieved, administered etc call for instant attention of the employers.

Proofreading: To err is human, that’s how goes a noted proverb. So, even if you have created  a stellar of a resume, never forget to proof read it for spellings, grammar and facts.  The more you resume will be free of error, the more it is likely to pull recruiters.

Sample References : Even if you are a seasoned resume writer, never take things for granted. A simple comparison of your draft resume with several samples will let you know about the various other nuances that may be included.  In fact , you can ask somebody else to give a  feedback on your resume.

The aforementioned steps are only a handful of points that needed to be followed while writing a resume, and there are hundreds of other aspects that come into play.
